Hello,
Yesterday we spent the afternoon at U.N.M.C. in hopes to find out the transplant day. We know nothing they are still waiting for the donor to get all his health testing done. So we wait again. (The Lord is teaching us something we are just slow learners). So we wait. Ha Ha
O.K. so we did learn somethings. On the day that they Harvest the cells from the Donor(Which is a perfect match Thank-you Lord) They will send them immediately and the transplant will be the same day. Now five days before harvest day Doug will be admitted and will start 2 days of chemo and 3 days of full body radiation. The chemo drug they will be using is one that Doug has had before, this will just be 10x stronger then what he has had. The radiation will be given twice a day for a total of six treatments. He will be in the hospital around 31/2 weeks depending on how fast his white blood count rises.
We thank-you all for your continued prayers and ask that you keep Doug before our Lord for this whole process. We realize that this is going to be very hard on Doug's body and there are many possible side effects. We also know that we serve a great and mighty God who has given these doctors the wisdom that they have to treat this cancer. The Lord has blessed us so much through this journey that he has us on. We pray that he gets all glory and honor. We pray for our doctors and nurses and that we might be able to be a blessing to them. We are truly blessed.
When we find out the dates we will let everyone know.
Love to all,
Kelly
